Outlook Zimbra settings with Office 2016
From your Outlook screen, press the File Button
If this is the first time select “Add Account”
Or if you are updating/correcting the existing account, click on “Account Settings”.
For change next few steps are already done.
For new, change the Auto Account Setup to “Manual setup or additional server types”
Choose “Pop or IMAP” as we are setting up the recommended “IMAP”.
If you are changing (rather than new account) select “Account Settings…”
Next steps are the same for add new account or change existing.
In my case I am setting up the VP of Operations profile. Your email address will be different, but the server, and server settings will be the same. You will of course have your own password.
Once you have filled in this screen press “More Settings…”
Verify email account spelling.
Check the checkbox for “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authorization”
And the radio button “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”
Check the “Advanced” tab.
For the “Incoming server (IMAP)” leave port for now, but change connection to “SSL”, then verify that 993 shows up as the incoming server [port]
Next leave the port for Outgoing as “Auto” and change the port to 587.
When you are satisfied, with your settings press “OK”
Note that the “Automatically test account settings when Next is clicked” is checked.
If you leave this checked or press the check “Test Account Settings…” it will send a test email to verify it is working. Press Next.
When both tasks are a green check park, press the “Close” button.
Currently zcs.pmi-portland.org has an invalid certificate. This is a known issue with an open ticket.
Normally I would not tell you to ignore this type of warning, but this is the exception.
Press “Yes” to get past the warning. Unfortunately, you will need to do this, every time you sign on until our tech support can recognize a solution and resolve it.
