Suranga Jayakody, PMP
Suranga is an Engineer/Validation Manager at Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, a worldwide leader in design and manufacture of implants, instruments and innovative technologies. Suranga has many years of regulated industry experience in Medical Device, Nuclear, Oil &Gas, and Education. His expertise also includes Quality Management, Lean, Process Development, Training, Risk Analysis, Reliability, and Engineering. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and a Master’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. He is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Process Analyst, and a PMP. He enjoys working with people. Suranga is an instructor for the PMP Certification Course.
Sushil Nema, PMP, ACP
Sushil is a Senior Project Manager with Ernst & Young. Sushil has 20 years of project management experience in implementation of SAP and Indirect Tax Engines like Vertex and OneSource. Sushil has worked on many Global Implementations with the companies headquartered in China, Switzerland, UK, Canada, Singapore, Mexico, and India. Sushil has MS in Management in Science and Technology from Oregon Graduate Science and Technology. He is PMI PMP and ACP certified. Sushil loves to teach PMP certification classes.
Kris Ressler, PMP
Kris Ressler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He has spent his entire career in new product development helping him gain over 20 years of experience in the execution and management of new product development projects. Kris’s experience in project management spans engineering, legal, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, training, publications, service, and quality control has helped him gain ever-increasing roles of responsibility in engineering management. His experience includes managing global teams spread out across 4 continents. Kris has traveled and worked in 15 different countries over the course of his career providing him a wealth of experience managing project teams with diverse cultural backgrounds. Kris is currently the Director of Engineering, Global Controls and Electrical Systems at Hyster-Yale Group, Inc. in Fairview, OR. Kris earned his PMP certification in May of 2012 and is honored to be a part of the team that helped prepare him for PMP certification.
Jennifer Walts, PMP, CSM
Jennifer has more than 10 years of project management experience in the technology industry. She’s known for getting things done and focuses on creative solutions for complex projects—and ensuring her team of project managers is positioned to successfully manage their projects.
Jennifer is an instructor for the PMI Portland Chapter PMP prep course and regularly receives positive feedback for the real-world examples she brings to the class. She is currently Director of Project Management at Prowess Consulting, where she defines, manages, and markets technology solutions and services.
Saby Waraich, PMP
Saby has been serving PMI Portland Chapter as a Volunteer for the last 6 years in various positions, from helping at the registration desk to Director of Volunteers, and for the last two years on the Board as VP of Membership. He also co-hosts the PMI Portland Downtown roundtable. Saby is an instructor for the PMI Portland Chapter PMP prep course. He enjoys working with people and brings enthusiasm, leadership and great customer service qualities to his current role.
He is currently working as Senior Information Systems Manager at City of Portland, and as an adjunct Professor at Portland Community of College and University of Phoenix. Saby is a graduate of Portland State University with a Master's degree in Engineering and Technology Management and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, India.
Jena Marcum, PMP, CSM
Jena Marcum is a Consultant at Propeller in Portland, OR. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and her Masters of Science in Technology degree from Purdue University. Jena also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI), is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
Jena's consulting experience includes a range from Utilities, Athletics, to Technology industries. Her career experience includes Technical Program Management at Rolls-Royce Corporation where she managed the scope, cost and schedule of multi-year global projects and led large, diverse teams to meet customer expectations. Her functional experience includes whole engine testing, component vibration testing, program management, process improvement, and systems engineering.
Sandra Koelle, MBA, PMP, CSSGB
Sandra Koelle has had her PMP certification since April 2013 and has recently taken on the role of Director for PMP Certification with PMI Portland. She is a Senior Project Manager for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the North West (KPNW), where her special niche is regulatory projects. Before joining KPNW in 2013, Sandra managed projects for the Oregon State Hospital Replacement Project, including the implementation of the electronic health record at the new facility in Salem, and a variety of other related projects for the Addictions and Mental Health division. Sandra holds a B.A from Penn State University and an M.B.A. from Marylhurst University. Transplanted from the East Coast in 2001, Sandra has reveled in all the Pacific Northwest has to offer, thriving on hiking trails in the Cascades, in tidal pools at the coast, and at community events rain or shine. She enjoys gardening, reading, and nurturing the many interests of her 13 year old son.
Daniel Ackermann MSPM, PMP, CSMDaniel is a Project Management and Agile consultant with over 25 years’ experience in the software development and technology industry. He has a master’s degree in Project and Program management from Boston University and obtained his PMP certification in October 2001. He is a Certified Scrum Master is preparing for the PMI-ACP certification. His main area of interest is the translation of skills from traditional project management to the Agile world and how the two worlds can co-exist in an enterprise. His teaching and facilitation career spans over 15 years as a past lecturer at the San Jose State University and had facilitated PMP preparation classes since 2006. He presented a paper at the first annual Project Risk and Cost Management Conference in Boston, Massachusetts and was a speaker at PMP monthly meetings. Daniel is passionate about helping people to achieve more through the acquisition of knowledge.
Jacob Zych, PMP
Jacob is a Project Manager with Verity, a HealthStream Company, a healthcare software provider serving over 2,400 hospitals and 1,000 medical groups in the US. Jacob has a primary focus in healthcare IT project management for the past five years implementing enterprise-level solutions across multifacility healthcare organizations. He holds and Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Georgia Southern University and a Master’s degree in Adult and Continuing Education from Kansas State University. Jacob is originally from Atlanta, GA but has lived in Gwangju, South Korea and Chicago, Illinois before moving to the Northwest. In South Korea, Jacob gained his teaching experience as an English as a foreign language instructor for five years. Jacob enjoys being active including playing basketball, hiking, and mountain biking.
