Thorns Networking Event 2015
Forty-five PMI Portland Chapter members and sponsors attended a members networking event August 30, 2105 to watch the Portland Thorns final regular season soccer game. We met as a group at 5:30 pm outside Providence Park. To show our spirit for PMI and the Thorns, all attendees wore red PMI Portland Chapter t-shirts.
The match started at 6:30, and prior to the kick-off, we networked, ate dinner, and had some drinks. The food was delicious! The Chapter provided a south of the border themed dinner that included cheese and chicken enchiladas, chips and salsa, black beans, spanish rice, salad, watermelon, and stuffed raspberry churros. For drinks we had water, soft drinks, a selection of domestic and craft beers, as well as house Chardonnay and Cabernet wines.
The Thorns were out of the playoffs-picture but they still brought their best to the game. It was an exciting match! The Washington Spirit wanted a win to improve their position and brought the heat: The Spirit was up 2-0 at half time. The Thorns rallied in the second half to lead 3-2. The Spirit kept at it though and tied the match up near the end. The Thorns continued to push until the 90th minute to try and get a win for the fans, but the Spirit was able to hold them off.
Chapter members that attended the event universally felt that it was a great time and were really exicited that the Portland PMI Chapter is providing opportunities for members to get together and have some FUN!
We’re taking members to a Timbers game Sunday October 25, 2015 at 4pm too! PMI Portland has 60 tickets available to take you, our members, to a Timbers game. This is an opportunity for our awesome members to get together, network a little bit, eat some good food, and watch some awesome soccer!
Tickets cost $10 and you’ll be limited to one ticket per person. Tickets will be available through the PMI Portland website beginning October 11 on a first come, first serve basis.
