1st  Annual PMI Portland Chapter Holiday Toy Drive

It’s the season of giving, so let’s come together as a Chapter to give the children of our community the special holiday they deserve. This year's holiday toy drive will benefit OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

If you are able, please bring a new, unwrapped toy donation to the Chapter meeting. Recommended donations include: board games, puzzles, dolls/action figures, stuffed animals, coloring books and art supplies (donations are needed for children of all ages – infant through teen).

As a special ‘Thank You’ for your support, those who bring a toy donation will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a special prize from one of our sponsors. And from all of us, thank you for your support of the children at Doernbecher, and in our community!

Keynote Presentation

Courageously, Compassionately, Confidently Learning: A 21st Century Role for Project Managers

Courageously, Compassionately, Confidently Learning: A 21st Century Role for Project ManagersLearning is emerging as a key competency as the 21st century unfolds, not only for every organization, but also for every individual – from those in the board room and the executive suite, to managers and leaders in the middle, to teams on the front line, and those who coach and facilitate them. Key, not only for everyone who wants to succeed, but particularly for those who seek proficiency and success. In this talk, Diana Larsen will celebrate the learning practitioner/leader. You’ll discover how to find courage and compassion as project leaders who can see, embrace, and learn from mistakes. You’ll engage with ideas for setting the conditions for your maximum learning. And you’ll walk away with guidelines for confident learners and the energy to put them to the test.

Creating Environments for Team Learning

Are you working with a team of knowledge workers? Are you a member of such a team? Project leaders who can design and equip environments for team learning gain a critical skill for enabling successful knowledge work. These environments celebrate the heroic learner potential in all of us. In this session, you’ll practice setting the conditions for maximum learning for your teams. You’ll leave with five crucial guidelines for heroic learners.

Bring a team learning challenge to this education session. We will examine new approaches to meeting your challenge including skills for sustaining and becoming comfortable with a stance of relentless curiosity and continuous inquiry.
