What We Need Now Is Pervasive Leadership

As Agile emerges in an organization one of the first challenges encountered is how the existing leadership paradigm does or does not align to support agility. This requires a shift from a power-over approach to a power-with approach. Servant-leadership has been cited as an existing model that Agile-aspiring leaders can look to. However, over the years, it has become clear that this model does not provide sufficient guidance for leaders in transition. And, regrettably, it is often operationalized such that we see more Soylent Green than Greenleaf.

Pervasive Leadership is not a stepwise transformation model. It is a way of leading to enhance agility, to strengthen the self, others, and the organization no matter what agile framework you have selected. It is a way of freeing yourself and others to become the heroes of your own lives thereby restoring our society as a whole to true freedom and accountability.

Negotiation: The Key to Project/Program Commitment

Today's complex, unpredictable projects/programs require full commitment and re-commitment from all stakeholders. Only mutual agreement can ensure full commitment. Effective negotiation is the most powerful tool for achieving mutual agreements. Negotiation is not a seat-of-the pants skill. It requires the right mindset, not just a toolbox of tactics. This presentation challenges you to start thinking like a negotiator and gives you tools for avoiding the biggest negotiation mistakes.
