PMI Portland Chapter

PMI Portland is made up of more than 2200 members and serves the Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington, Metro area. In-Person monthly chapter meetings are generally held on the East Side, Downtown Portland, but monthly Roundtables and other programs and events are held in Beaverton/Hillsboro, Vancouver, Clackamas and virtually to engage with members beyond traditional settings.

Thank you for joining the PMI Portland Chapter. We are delighted to have you as a new member.  We have just received your account information from PMI Global and have created an account for you on our Chapter web site–www.pmi-portland.org.

Here is some information that should help you get involved in our Chapter, and get the most from your membership.

  • There is a New Member orientation meeting at every Chapter meeting. 
  • Please check out the New Member Info web page.
  • PMI Portland Chapter web site Login - use the same username and password as you use at pmi.org. 
  • Chapter Members must log in when they register for events, in order to receive member pricing. For complete information about accounts, event pricing and registration, please read this page: Registration & Pricing Information.
  • You must make changes to your address, email, etc., on the pmi.org site, as we share a single sign-on with PMI global.
  • Please be sure to keep your profile information accurate and complete on the pmi.org site. We tailor our member offerings and activities based in part on information we receive from PMI global. 
  • Your Chapter username and password will no longer work if your Chapter membership expires.

There is a wealth of information about the Chapter on our web site. We hope you will take some time to familiarize yourself with it. Refer to the Leadership web page to learn about the Board of Directors and their teams. We value your input, so please contact the VP of Membership or any of the Chapter leaders with suggestions, ideas or questions.

Thank you for joining the PMI Portland Chapter. We are delighted to have you as a new member.  Here is some information that should help you get involved in our Chapter, and get the most from your membership.

New Member Orientation

We offer a brief new member orientation at every Chapter meeting. Here is the New Member Orientation Handout.

Website Accounts

Chapter members join PMI and the Portland Chapter at the pmi.org (PMI Global) web site.

IMPORTANT - It takes up to three business days for PMI Global to process your new PMI Portland Chapter membership (or renewal) and to send us the data so that we can create your PMI Portland account on our site.  You cannot log in and receive member pricing until this happens - don't wait!!!  

You will log in to the PMI Portland Chapter web site with your PMI Global credentials.

As soon as your new account is created, our system sends you an email with the Subject:  Welcome to PMI Portland Chapter.   Click here for the contents.

New member login

Log in using the MEMBER LOGIN link on our site. Your PMI Portland Chapter username and password are the same as your pmi.org (PMI Global) credentials. We share a single sign-on.

See the PMI Global Customer Care (Help) web page for questions as PMI Portland does not have access to your credential information.

Chapter Student member accounts

Student Chapter membership (and pricing) applies to those who:

Student membership and pricing does not apply to Chapter members or non-members who may also happen to be students.

Updating account information

Members must update their account information at PMI Global, and the updates will be reflected in the PMI Portland Chapter account information.

Please be sure to keep your profile information accurate and complete on the pmi.org site. We tailor our member offerings and activities based in part on information we receive from PMI Global. 

Account Expiration

Chapter Membership, and your ability to log in and receive member pricing, automatically expires on our site at the same time as it does at PMI Global.

Event Registration & Pricing

IMPORTANT - It takes up to three business days for PMI Global to process your new PMI Portland Chapter membership and send us the data so that we can create your PMI Portland account on our site.  You cannot log in and receive member pricing until this happens - don't wait!!!  

When you log in and register for events, you will see pricing appropriate to your membership status.

How to Join PMI Portland

Membership begins by joining PMI Global

  1. Go to www.pmi.org
  2. Click on Membership Tab
  3. Choose the type of plan that suits your needs -- Individual, Student or Retiree
  4. Then, it will ask if you'd like to join a Community Chapter - Click on Join Chapter
  5. Portland Chapter should automatically come up for you based on your IP address, if not, you can search for the chapter in the regions provided (North America region)
  6. A $35 Membership fee will be added to your cart ($10 for Students)
  7. You will be asked to agree with the terms and conditions in the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the PMI Conflict Resolution Procedures
  8. Complete payment as directed using your credit card
  9. Once you have enrolled through this online registration and have selected PMI Portland as your local chapter, PMI Global will complete the "paperwork" and download your membership to PMI Portland. This can take up to three (3) days.

While you are waiting to receive your first communication from PMI Portland, visit our website often to remain up to date on current and future events.
