Chapter Meeting - Bring Out Your Inner Bad Ass

  • The unique strength of introverted leaders
  • How to have fun with your “minority” identity and turn it to your advantage
  • Advice on Executive presence when you found yourself the only woman in the board room
  • How and when to pivot in your career

jenn donahueUS Navy Captain, civil engineer, and business founder Jenn Donahue has borne many responsibilities over the years--including her longtime mission of helping rising leaders achieve their greatest potential (even in the worst possible conditions).

Today, thanks to 25 years leading in business and the military, Jenn handles many roles:

  • Commodore—in charge of 1400 Navy personnel, and 3 battalions
  • Civil engineer—leading large scale, high profile geotechnical projects
  • Operations consultant—whose projects range from $6 to $64 million
  • Teacher—lecturer at both UC Berkeley and UCLA
  • Mentor—because we're each capable of achieving far more than we believe
  • Motivational speaker—with proprietary leadership tools and frameworks

Jenn has led notable operations around the globe: She has built a bridge across the  Euphrates river in the midst of the Iraq war. Commanded an 800-personnel Battalion in Afghanistan.   And constructed combat outposts in the middle of deserts filled with insurgents.  Jenn has also led earthquake and tsunami reconnaissance missions in Samoa and Japan. Designed the seismic plans for a bridge over the Panama Canal. And built roads  by blasting and drilling in the coldest climes of Ketchikan. Jenn has served as technical expert on seismology for no fewer than five nuclear power plants.

Jenn has long-established her own firm whose clients range from Duke Energy to  PG&E, National Chevron Phillips, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), the cities of Anchorage as well as Seattle, and TN Valley Authority.

Along the way, Jenn has made time to mentor scores of young leaders—many of whom  have risen through the ranks in business and the U.S. Navy.

Jenn’s board service includes EERI (Earthquake Engineering Research Institute) and USGS (United States Geological Survey).
