Maybe you’ve heard rumblings of change at your organization and you wonder how it might impact you. Perhaps you have been thinking about trying something new in your career. And then there are those of us already on the job market, working feverishly to make the moves that will land a job.
Fall is a great time to bolster your personal career brand, polish your resume, practice interviewing, and make new connections that could lead to your best job ever. On November 19 – in collaboration with supply chain management non-profit APICS – we will transform our regular monthly Chapter meeting into a Job Resource Event extraordinaire.
Attendees will have the chance to learn best practices for demonstrating their breadth of experience and get a new headshot to refresh LinkedIn profiles. More than a half-dozen resume writing professionals will be onsite to provide 10-minute review sessions to help you spotlight your hard-earned successes. Kallol Das from Kallol Photography, and Lisa Kuhlman from Windows on Life Photography, will shoot your best side to provide you with a professional photo to draw attention from prospective employers.
Our meeting space will be set up to give participants a chance to chat with recruiters and others from organizations that may be looking for new talent – whether you are new to the profession, looking to translate skills to project management, or are ready to move on up. This event also will be a great time to socialize with peers and learn from their experiences to aid you in identifying the “right fit” employer, best places to connect, etc. More than 70% of job opportunities come from networking!
After the dinner hour, PMI Portland and APICS have partnered to provide us with a Career Search discussion featuring a stellar panel including a career strategist, a long-time project management pro, a VP of technology, corporate recruiter, and a business consultant. Click on the link below to see our full line-ups.
You’ll leave prepared to nail your job search and land at the top of the hiring managers’ list!
Don’t miss this great opportunity to network across industries and build your career toolkit.
