August 5—November 11, 2020
PMI Portland Chapter is partnering with 120VC to offer discounted registration for the 14-week 120VC Project Leadership Program (PLP). The world has many management disciplines: Waterfall, Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Scrum, Dev Ops, Kanban and, now, Objectives and Key Results. This program shares the playbook that 120VC has used for 20 years to complete large, global transformational projects for Fortune 50 companies, regardless of the management discipline they use.
Running from August 5, 2020, through November 11, 2020, the 120VC PLP offers 14 weeks of online, instructor-led sessions combined with “off week” assignments and a highly interactive learning community. The curriculum is great for anyone responsible for a team – from entry level operations managers, to seasoned project or change managers, to PMO director-level leaders.
The course covers organizational change management, project portfolio management, motivating people, cultivating good commitments, accountability, negotiation, and managing project change, to name a few topics.
In partnership with PMI Portland, this $2,500 course is being offered for $1,500 to non-PMI Portland participants due to the pandemic. But, by using promo code PMIPDXCOVID-RELIEF, your final price is just $999.
About the Instructor
The PLP is led by 120VC Founder and CEO, J. Scott, who led our April 2020 workshop: “It’s Never Just the Business - It’s About the People.” J. started his career jumping out of helicopters with the Navy and has overseen global transformational efforts at organizations such as Trader Joe’s Sony Pictures, and Mattel. He is the author of “It’s Never Just Business: It’s About People,” and “The Irreverent Guide to Project Management.”
“A transformative experience... It’s a journey, this course. With the quality of insight that is provided in this class, students have every opportunity to deepen their understanding of team dynamics, human psychology, and change leadership. The assignments are extremely thoughtfully crafted from a mix of sources, including plenty of original content on both leadership principles as well as project management.”
-- Michael Knutson, IT Project Manager at Cydcor
“Practical, actionable learning… I highly recommend this course for experienced program/project managers as well as those aspiring to enter the field. Unlike other project management courses, the 120VC approach applies a heavy focus on leadership skills that are critical to success in these roles. This program ensures you develop the soft skills to complement your project management capabilities.”
-- Dave Mott, Principle at Supply Chain Execution Works
