Academic Outreach

The Academic OutReach committee will encourage local academic institutions to include PMI accredited project management courses as part of their core curricula, and to promote the value of PMI accredited courses among their students and prospective employers.

The Academic Outreach Committee is the liaison between the PMI-Portland Chapter and local universities, colleges and other project management educational groups. Its primary objective is to assist in the implementation of the Project Management Institute's Standards for curriculum development and content within project management educational programs.

Goals of the Academic Outreach Committee:

  • Encourage local academic institutions to include PMI accredited project management courses as part of their core management curricula.
  • Assist in the implementation of PMI’s standards and practices in curriculum development and course content at regional academic institutions.
  • Promote the value of PMI accredited courses among students and prospective employers. Understand the needs of the companies in the corporate community we serve
