Becoming a Member
The PMI-Portland Chapter prides itself on being an active and growing project management community. We are one of the largest chapters in the Pacific Northwest. To become a member of the Portland Chapter, first apply for membership with the Project Management Institute (PMI). Information on membership and the application process can be obtained at www.pmi.org/membership.  You can join online or download an application.

During the PMI membership application process, you will be asked if you are interested in joining a PMI Chapter. Select the Portland Chapter. We will be honored to welcome you as a new member, and you will begin receiving the benefits of membership right away!.

Membership Benefits
PMI-Portland membership is an invaluable resource for the exchange of ideas and information. PMP Certification Preparatory Workshops
PMI-Portland offers local PMP Certification workshops to help project managers prepare for taking the PMP exam. Areas of study include: Framework and Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Communications, Procurement, Risk, Human Resources and Quality.

Network of Project Management Professionals
PMI-Portland is made up of project management professionals from many different organizations. PMI-Portland members have years of project management expertise across numerous industries. Networking with others provides an opportunity to share best practices and ideas.

Discount on Monthly Chapter Meetings with Professional Project Management Speakers
PMI-Portland conducts chapter dinner meetings on the third Tuesday of every month from September - June. Generally, we have a professional project manager speaking on specific topics. See the PMI chapter meeting link for more information.

Monthly Breakfast Roundtables
PMI-Portland currently sponsors breakfast roundtables in several locations throughout the Portland metro area. Check the chapter events calendar for details. These roundtable sessions enable project managers to discuss real-world issues with their peers.

PMI-Portland Monthly Newsletter
PMI-Portland members receive a monthly newsletter which communicates valuable chapter information. The newsletter generally includes a message from the president, monthly meeting agenda, a summary of the previous chapter meeting, membership updates, etc. (See the newsletters page for more information.)

Volunteer Opportunities
PMI-Portland members have the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of ways. Our Outreach program supports our community with project management expertise in corporate, education, community and mentoring settings. Members are also encouraged to take a leadership role in this all-volunteer organization.
